Horsemanship 101 is intended to teach you the fundamental skills to safely manage a horse from the ground. You will learn how to gain the horses trust and respect and how to get it to connect to and follow you.
Learning to manage and lead the horse from the ground is a fundamental prerequisite to learning to ride or any other horse related discipline. This training is of benefit to those who have never worked with horses before. It can also be very valuable if you have a horse but are experiencing some handling challenges, either on the ground or in the saddle. If you are interested in learning more about the importance of ground work this is a great read – Groundwork with Our Horses. Why We do It.
Horsemanship 101 lessons are $30 an hour. Horses are provided. It takes most people five to eight sessions to become comfortable with safely handling a horse from the ground.
